Moths caught on the night of the 22nd and 23rd August 2014
totalled 16 of 5 different species in my Back Garden in Howdon
They were as follows:
1913 | Ennomos alniaria | Canary-shouldered Thorn | 1 |
2107 | Noctua pronuba | Large Yellow Underwing | 11 |
2109 | Noctua comes | Lesser Yellow Underwing | 2 |
2134 | Xestia xanthographa | Square-spot Rustic | 1 |
2154 | Mamestra brassicae | Cabbage Moth | 1 |
Here are pictures of a few of them although the Canary-shouldered Thorn was
a new species for the garden and so photogenic that I have put in 2 photos

Remember, I am not infallible (as most of you probably know) so if I have
made an identification error please let me know, I don't mind admitting when
I am wrong as it is one of the ways you learn
shame i missed that beauty.
